About the Burton Inn Building

The building is a famed Cambria landmark, dating back to 1865. It was built by a local and prosperous farmer named Rufus Rigdon. Mr. Rigdon chose an idyllic spot with the Santa Rosa Creek nearby and beautiful views of the cambria pines.
After Mr. Rigdon enjoyed his time at 4022 Burton Drive, an English couple acquired the property. They built the Burton House next door in 1975 and ran a very successful restaurant for a number of years. Eventually, the two buildings were transformed into an iconic Cambria Hotel to what is now known as the delightful Burton Inn.
Since being under new ownership, this Cambria hotel has seen many renovations. While maintaining the warmth and charm of the historical building, the upgrades have added a modern touch to the facade and all of the suites, setting the stage for a comfortable and unforgettable retreat. Twelve spacious suites welcome guests to relax and enjoy a blissful getaway in true comfort. From the Grand to the Superior, our suites are well-appointed with every detail to make your stay a perfect dream.
